Thainstone Specialist Auctions vintage tractor seat makes £1100 with JCB excavator at £34,000 | The Scottish Farmer

A collection of 111 restored tractor seats and memorabilia from a private collector in Morayshire, attracted a top price of £1100 at a timed online sale conducted by Thainstone Specialist Auctions.

The items which could be viewed at Thainstone Centre, saw a Kemp and Nicholson Stirling cast seat top the trade at £1100, followed by a Ben Reid and Co Aberdeen cast seat achieve £1000. Also popular was a Watson Bros Banff cast seat which made £650 and a R Bickerton and Sons cast seat achieved £600.

At the firm's live online sale of 1700 entries of good quality machinery and second hand equipment at Thainstone, prices peaked at £34,000for a 2011 JCB 4CX backhoe excavator.

Small plant and groundcare – Haulotte HA12P access hoist, £5000; Hanix H08B micro excavator, £5000; TL38 portable cherry picker, £4000; Amazone PH1250 utilities mower/collector, £3800

Tractors, telehandlers and plant equipment – 2011 JCB 4CX backhoe excavator, £34,000; 2013 Claas Arion 620C 4wd tractor C/W front linkage, £20,000; 2011 Logic ATV soft track, £20,000; 2010 JCB Fastrac 2155, £19,800.

Light commercials and 4x4s – 2017 Mitsubishi Shogun SWB SG2Di-D auto commercial, £17,500; 2018 Ford Ranger wildtrack 3.2 double cab, £17,300; 2017 VW Crafter CR35 startline van, £14,000; 2016 Toyota Hilux invincible double cab, £10,000.

Farm machinery and implements – Mobile stone crusher, £9800; Kane 12t tandem axle silage trailer, £7700; Marshall QM11 monocoque grain trailer c/w hydraulic door, £6900; Stewart 34ft tandem axle flat trailer, £5600.

Trailers, containers and caravans – Ifor Williams twin axle horsebox, £4400; Bessacarr 4 berth caravan, £3900; Ifor Williams 510G 12x6 stock trailer, £3900; Ifor Williams TB4021-352 13’ tilt bed trailer, £3700.
