Har Ghar Tiranga Abhiyan 2022 Live: Keeping the spirit of ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign alive, Indore has created a new record for making a geographical map of India by forming a human chain. According to news agency ANI, the event got registered in the World Book of Records. On the other hand, a 6,600 feet long tricolour yatra was taken out in Jhajjar, Haryana. In fact, a number of monumnets including Sher Shah Suri’s Tomb in Bihar to Qutub Minar in Delhi, a large number of ASI monuments across India have been lit up in tri-colour theme as part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ movement.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday highlighted the significance of the national flag and said that the tricolour had become a protective shield not only for Indians but also for people for other nationals who had come out from the battlefield of Ukraine to India. The Prime Minister was addressing all the winners of Commonwealth 2022 games at his official residence. It is needless to say that the entire nation has come together to make Har Ghar Tiranga a success.

Many dignitaries and students created a Guinness World Record on Saturday by forming the world’s largest human formation of a waving national flag in Chandigarh. Swapnil Dangarikar, GWR Official Adjudicator told ANI that one such record was set years ago in the UAE, and today, that record has been broken. The record was achieved by Chandigarh University and NID Foundation reportedly with the participation of 5,885 people. Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi was also present on the occasion, reported ANI.

BJP leaders including Union ministers participated in ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign on Saturday across the country as the three-day exercise began to mark India’s 75th year of independence. Home Minister Amit Shah hoisted the national flag at his residence. BJP national president JP Nadda also hoisted the national flag at his home in Delhi today. Nadda urged the people to make the campaign a success. Party leaders were seen attending different programmes, including ‘Prabhat Pheri’ and Tiranga rally in various cities.

‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ is being run ahead of August 15th when the nation will celebrate its 75th Independence Day. It follows an emotional appeal by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 22 last month. The idea behind the campaign is to connect with the masses and infuse a sense of nationalism and patriotism. In a series of tweets last month, PM Modi had urged everyone to hoist the national flag from their homes.

'Tiranga' rallies were held in several parts of Madhya Pradesh on Sunday on the eve of Independence Day. Three union ministers and Delhi Lieutenant Governor on Sunday participated in an early morning walk with 10,000 NDMC school students to celebrate the ongoing 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, an official statement said. The 'Prabhat Pheri' began from Janpath Radial and culminated at the National War Memorial at India Gate to celebrate the campaign under 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to mark 75 years of India's independence. Union Ministers Piyush Goyal, Smriti Irani and Meenakshi Lekhi attended the event. Delhi LG Vinai Kumar Saxena, Chairman New Delhi Municipal Corporation Ashwani Kumar, members of NDMC Kuljeet Singh Chahal and Vishakha Sailani also participated in the march. (PTI)

A man was arrested here for allegedly hoisting Pakistan's national flag at his house, police said on Saturday. Additional Superintendent of Police Ritesh Kumar Singh, “The flag was hoisted at a house in Vedupar Mustaquil village under the Tariya Sujan police station area of the district on Friday around 11 am.” He added that the flag was removed as soon as police got information about it. “The arrested accused is Salman (21). A case has been registered against Salman and his aunt Shahnaz (22), who made the flag. Apart from this, Imran's cousin Imran will be booked under the Juvenile Justice Act for helping Salman in hoisting the flag,” he added. (PTI)

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Saturday hoisted the national flag at its 23 stations as part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, officials told PTI. DMRC chief Vikas Kumar hoisted the tricolour at the site of INA metro station in presence of the general public, passengers and other senior officials and the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), they said. Flags were also hoisted at 22 other metro stations in the presence of the public, staff from DMRC and CISF across the metro network after the formal ceremony at INA Metro station.

The BJP on Saturday made light of the Congress' criticism of the government for not holding any function in Parliament to mark the 75th year of Independence, and asked it to share pictures of its leaders hoisting 'tiranga' as part of an ongoing official campaign. Jairam Ramesh finds fault in everything, BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra said after the Congress general secretary raised the issue and alleged that the milestone occasion has been reduced to “glorifying the sarvagyaani”, an apparent swipe at Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Patra said the government's 'Har Ghar Tiranga' initiative to mark the 75th anniversary was not a matter of politics and noted that BJP leaders have hoisted the national flag at their home as part of the exercise. He said wryly that Congress leaders Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra would have hoisted the flag as well and the Congress should share their pictures as the BJP members have done. Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday said the tricolour is not just a flag, but a symbol of self-awareness, reported PTI. Fadnavis was speaking at a gathering during the 'Tiranga Padyatra' (foot march) organised here by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), where Union minister Nitin Gadkari, the party's newly-appointed state unit chief Chandrashekhar Bawankule. As per the PTI report, some other party leaders and workers took part in the padyatra that was taken out from Trisharan square to Shatabdi square in the morning. The event was organised as part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to commemorate 75 years of Independence. “The tricolour is not just a flag, but a symbol of our 'atmabhan' (self-awareness). The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Friday changed the profile pictures of its social media accounts to the national flag from its traditional saffron flag. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged the people of the country to put the tricolour as their profile picture of their social media accounts between August 2 and 15. The campaign Har Ghar Tiranga is part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' celebrations to mark 75 years of India's independence.

SBI Chairman Dinesh Khara flags off a cycle rally in Mumbai to raise awareness about Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, reports ANI. Over 200 people were seen participating. “We're celebrating the 75th year of independence. We're hoping to get our message across to everybody through this,” Khara said.

Union minister Anurag Thakur on Friday said there was a time in Kashmir when national flags were burnt, but after the abrogation of Article 370, anyone can proudly hoist the national flag in any corner of Jammu & Kashmir, anytime. Thakur was speaking at the Talkatora Stadium during the grand finale of the youth-centric activation programme 'Badhe Chalo' conceived by the Ministry of Culture as part of 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' to “instill a deeper sense of love for the country”.

As part of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation has distributed 41 lakh tricolours in the city so far. The BMC in a release stated, Of the distributed tricolours, the civic body itself had purchased 40 lakh and the Tata group had donated another one lakh.
