High-quality chain hoists face the same challenges in South Africa as other reputable equipment imported into the country-cheaper products imported from China make prices more competitive.

Although their quality is generally low, the extremely low prices of these Chinese imports make the purchase attractive. When they fail, they are simply discarded and replaced.

Despite this challenge, Hitachi reports that due to good service support and mature distribution channels, local sales are stable.

Since Kondra obtained the exclusive right of Hitachi’s agency in 2009, the iron mines in Durban, Cape Town, Bloemfontein, Mbobera, Polokwane, Rustenburg and Xishen Iron Mine in Northern Cape Sales outlets supported by well-equipped agents have been established in other places.

Condra points out that the maintenance of high-quality chain hoists is usually cost-effective, and it turns out that the concept of discarding and replacing in the medium term is more expensive than investing in better quality equipment and repairing when needed.

The company believes that Hitachi chain hoists are well-known for their careful design and ability to operate reliably and well under harsh conditions for many years.

The hoist adopts helical gear transmission, it runs quietly, the electric disk brake has a long service life, and the plug-in cable can reduce maintenance and installation time. They also have a wealth of security features, including:

The more common features in this series include chains with hardened surfaces for optimal strength and wear resistance, and heat-treated hooks with safety latches and 360-degree rotation.

Condra Cranes produces bridge cranes ranging from 2 tons to 500 tons, using the Hitachi series to expand its lifting products up to 250 kg.
