The Lifting Equipment Engineers Association (LEEA) welcomed 250 guests last month to participate in the third annual LEEA Awards in 2021 to celebrate the success and victories of its diversified industry. The special guest is comedian and TV presenter Dara O Briain, who raised funds for the chair’s charity, Sobell House, in memory of LEEA colleague Craig Morelli.

The winners received trophies at a dinner at the Grosvenor Hotel in London, including: the retired LEEA staunch Denis Hogan received the Stuart Everitt Award, and Gareth McNary of Select Plant Hire – Laing O'Rourke received a sponsorship from Rigging Services Safety Award, which recognizes the lifting equipment industry’s commitment to safety. The runner-up is Karayi Manghattu Devadasan from Romson Oil Field Service. The Best Lifting Equipment Inspector recognizes individuals who are industry and industry ambassadors who have demonstrated commendable quality and professional behavior. Chris Elwick from Sparrows Offshore Service won the award because of his great commitment to checking details, good communication skills with customers, and motivation to present innovative reporting methods. The runner-up was Manny Segundo from Technical Royal Excellence Oil & Gas Services.

The Best Innovation Award aims to recognize products or services that are truly innovative and provide unique value propositions and tangible benefits for the lifting equipment industry. It was won by Crosby BlokCam of the Crosby Group. The judges agreed that the technology showed clear visual and audio characteristics, as well as the vertically integrated manufacturing process that distinguished it from other suppliers. The runner-up is SensorSpace remote monitoring, Mantracourt Electronics.

The Outstanding Apprentice Award is sponsored by Bridger Howes to recognize talented apprentices who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the professional development of the lifting equipment industry. Lewis Behai of Sunbelt Rentals won the game. The runner-up is Ivan Osawe from Speedy Hire.

Best Lifting Operation recognizes companies that have performed lifting operations and provided evidence of complexity, risk, uniqueness, and customer recommendations. The East Greenwich Pumping Station Team of the Thames Tides was won by Costin. This is a truly impressive project. The Kevin Holmes Talent Development Award recognizes outstanding performance in supporting and promoting the continuous professional development of employees. It was won by Hoist UK. Craig Morelli Certification Training Program Award-Best Trainer focuses on LEEA's certification training program and professional trainers who provide high-quality end-user training courses. It was won by James Cox from Industrial Training International, who consistently reached or exceeded challenging goals and demonstrated a high-quality approach through personal values ​​and work practices. Craig Douglas from JCD Training won the runner-up.
